To assist you in understanding how Paric's P3 might help you with your position measurement problem we have summarised work undertaken with two organisations.
Open Loop Measurement: You wish to measure and record position for system analysis
The Situation: A research group wished to meaure the position of an automated vehicle as it moved around a track and compare its actual position with the position measured using other sensors.
The Problem: RTK GPS systems were unsuitable as the experimental work was indoors. Laser based systems were too bulky for the application.

Closed Loop Control: You wish to measure position for closed loop control
The Situation: A machine manufacturer measures the real time position updates on the rotation and translation of a metal plate that that is installed on one of its products. The pitch, roll and yaw data is used to control the position of the plate in real time.
The Problem: The current solution suffers from robustness issues due to the need to physically cable the sensors on the plate to the main assembly and the requirement to mount expensive sensor technology on the plate. Laser and vision based technologies were unsuitable due to the harsh operating environment (water and dust) and RTK GPS was too expensive to mount on the plate given the harsh operating environment.
Below are two videos of selected tests undertaken for this company. The displacement of the transmitter antenna was tracked in this difficult envrionment with RMSE values of 2 and 10mm in the x, y plane.
Video One: Rotation
Video Two: Translation
